Taking the main payoff and using the idea of numbers located on the back of the players necks, in the movie, and emphasizing different traps as well as jigsaw–the games creator. Using the idea of the poisonous gas that slowly kills the players, each of the characters in the number is tied together by the green smoke, lurking in within the number.

What is Saw II?

Saw II is an American horror film part of the Saw franchise. Saw II features Jigsaw being interrogated but trapping one of the officers in his own game while also showing another game of eight–which includes the officer’s son–on monitors taking place in a different location.

Creating a series of variation posters that go off the idea of the traps that take place in the game. Using the same green smoke from the main payoff and concluding with the logo and date of the movie’s release.

Observing the old Saw logo, I wanted to play with the idea of handwritten type or illustrated logo.

 

Pushing for one

After digitizing these different ideas, I realized that I wanted to go for a handwritten looking type. When it came time to choose, I found myself stuck between these two.

Final Logo

 

Looking into the two handwritten type, I decided what I liked between the two. Ultimately, choosing a type that can look like it was carved into or spray painted on to the background.
