Merrie Monarch Festival Rebranded

 

What is this and why this designs?

There was a time where Hula and chant were taken from the Native Hawaiians. Now as a celebration of Hawaiian culture, the Merrie Monarch Festival celebrates the revival of the culture and gives a chance to remember their ancestors. Following the aesthetic of what Hawaii is known for collaborating with some traditional aspects and designs, this idea is used throughout all the pieces from posters to stationary designs.

Advertisement Placement

 

Poster Advertisement

Reaching out to more viewers in the cities or by buildings, these posters are meant to grab the viewers attention and peak their interest of the event.

Magazine Advertisements

Since hula tells the story of the culture of Hawaii, the idea is to have our advertisements everywhere and MANA is a very special magazine devoted to the culture and community of the Hawaiian people.

Promoting the Merrie Monarch Festival, advertisements will also be put in traveling magazines. For this example, this ad will but put in the airline magazines.

Using a more traditional approach for a “simply classy” look to welcome those that get special privileges.

Taking the collage pattern used on the posters to have a welcoming, bright feeling.

With the consistent tribal design from the stationary to the VIP admissions tickets, it brings a cohesive piece.
